Mt. 13:31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Mt. 13:32 Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.”

    This ministry began broadcasting in February 2005 as way of reaching residents of southern Louisiana with the word of God.

   The purpose of this ministry is fulfilled by sharing the news of salvation through Jesus Christ. This program is an evangelistic tool that allows God’s people to enrich their spiritual lives through hearing His Word. Many people in southern Louisiana still do not have local churches of Christ where they may attend.  In Light of the Word allows them to hear the word of God presented by mature Christians. 

   Kenneth W. Wright serves as the minister of the New Iberia Church of Christ. He recognized the need for an outreach ministry that could go into the homes of those in need.  He developed this program to fulfill that need. Now that program goes out to 1.8 million people in Louisiana.

   In two years this ministry has grown from an idea to an effective global outreach. The ministry is now successfully reaching around the globe through the Internet.  People in twenty-six countries have responded to this outreach ministry.  Now the whole world can see and hear In Light of the Word.

    Paul Jones, Danny Hebert, Johan Adendorf (of the Riverside church of Christ in Lafayette, LA); Bobby Newsom (of the Franklin church of Christ in Franklin, LA); Paul Estes ( of the Jennings church of Christ in Jennings, LA); and Jonathan Johnson (pine Prairie church of Christ in Pine Prairie, LA) all participate in this ministry.
